Nock et al prove that you don't need to go beyond pure, traditional jazz techniques to produce some amazing tracks. As long as musicians can produce sounds like this, jazz will never die.

Given the title, the diverse and engaging compositions should come as no surprise. After a month on repeat, I'm still enjoying the first rate performances by the various soloists. It comes with homages to Charlie Haden and John Taylor. A very fine curation indeed!
